About

A Commitment to Community, Technology, and Service

For over two decades, Diagnostic Imaging Services has been at the leading edge of medical imaging and yet remains focused on providing outstanding service to the community. Today, DIS is the only full-service outpatient imaging service in the Hagerstown area.

DIS was one of the earliest imaging companies in the nation to embrace filmless imaging technologies, first going digital in 1999 when only 7% of the nation was filmless. DIS was also one of the first to provide medical images to physicians over the Internet. This commitment to superior technology remains today as DIS continually invests in the latest state of the art equipment and the finest training for our staff.

But the most important priority has always been our patients. We listen to their concerns, provide them the most relaxing and comfortable facilities possible, and ensure every study is reviewed by our expert, board-certified radiologists from Associated Radiologists, P.A.

DIS also benefits patients by being a valuable, responsive asset to area physicians. Our direct, high-speed data connections to Meritus Medical Center means physicians can view medical images anywhere, anytime. When physicians and patients require immediate imaging in time-sensitive situations, we accommodate them.

American College of Radiology (ACR) BadgeThe American College of Radiology (ACR), headquartered in Reston, Virginia, awards accreditation to facilities for the achievement of high practice standards after peer-review evaluation of the practice. Evaluations are conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. They assess the qualifications of the personnel and adequacy of facility equipment. The surveyors report their finds to the ACR’s Committee on Accreditation, which subsequently provides the practice a comprehensive report.

The ACR is a national organization serving more 32,000 diagnostic and interventional radiologists, nuclear medicine, and medical physicists with programs focusing on the practice of medical imaging and radiation oncology and delivery of comprehensive health care services.
